Background
I’m Manoj Kumar from Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. I’ve completed my BA BEd from Sri Krishnadevaraya University and also done a trainer certificate course from Enable India Organisation. I’ve gained valuable experience through three-month internships at Kerala Blind School, Aluva, and Navajeevan School, Tirupati. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and watching cricket.
Teaching Approach
Learning is most effective when it’s directly tied to real-world tasks. Instead of just teaching how to use a screen reader, I embed the lessons within practical scenarios. For instance:
- Email management: We practice sending emails, organizing an inbox, and attaching documents.
- Online shopping: Students learn how to securely navigate e-commerce websites and make a purchase.
- Job searching: We explore online job boards, fill out applications, and create a digital resume.
This method helps students see the immediate value in what they are learning, making the process more engaging and less abstract.
Learning keyboard shortcuts and commands to work more efficiently.
- Understanding how to use built-in help features and online tutorials.
- Building a sense of comfort with technology so they aren’t afraid to explore new applications or websites on their own.
By focusing on these three areas, my training goes beyond a simple transfer of knowledge. It’s about building a foundation of skills and confidence that will serve the student long after the training is complete.
Area of Expertise:
My areas of expertise include special education, particularly working with visually impaired candidates, as evident from my internships at Kerala Blind School and Navajeevan School. I am a certified trainer from Enable India Organisation, skilled in designing and delivering training programs. Teaching is my passion, and I am especially dedicated to educating visually impaired individuals. Additionally, I possess language skills in multiple languages, including Kannada and broken Hindi, which enables me to connect with a diverse range of students and communities.
